WEEK ONE

Rise and shine, little monsters. A new week is waiting just for you. The events of yesterday may have been hard to stomach, but time heals all wounds, after all. The damages the house has incurred over the last week have been reverted and the staff is hard at work fulfilling their roles in this mansion. A piping hot breakfast is served in the dining room promptly at 7am, every square inch of floor and furniture has been cleaned spotless, and...the sound of birds chirping fills the hallway. The sun's shining brightly through the glass windows, and the curtain has been drawn back from the doors in the ballroom. The barriers blocking off the stairs down to the basement and to the balconies have been removed, and all guests may now explore these areas.

For anyone who ventures into the ballroom, a new change may become apparent. Should you choose to look at the plaques long enough, two images will flicker and change sporadically. While Haruka's portrait remains the same, on occasion it will change to an image of a pale, scratched up woman with yellow foam dripping from the corner of her lips. Likewise, Nikki's portrait looks just like herself, though if you blink you may miss it changing into the image of a large, rabid rat. There is no rhyme and reason for the change...though perhaps it serves as a reminder to those who remain.

Additionally, the house rules have been moved from the ballroom and back into the hallway, mounted in the entryway as they were.

But with this new bit of freedom comes another strange set of circumstances, you see. Starting today you'll find that the urge to give in to some nasty little traits has grown stronger. Greed, Pride, Jealousy....any of those seven deadly feelings will begin to bubble up inside you. Can you remain calm under the weight of your sins?

Perhaps so. Perhaps you're the type who's capable of ignoring these feelings even in your worst moments. You may be a beacon of hope for those who struggle with their emotions, but something else seems amiss. Even if you've managed to avoid those prickly feelings, some of you may experience a brain fog, making your thoughts hazy and hard to focus. Others may find themselves with a constant craving for sustenance, an insatiable hunger...though it may not be for food alone. And others still...it is a bit alarming for your arm to detach itself from your body, isn't it? Why would your feet run away without you? Best take stock of all of your limbs now because for the next week they may be just a bit too easy to remove. Don't lose your head over it though. They'll reattach easily enough.

You may experience only some of these events. Then again, maybe you're unlucky and you're experiencing all of these events at different points in time. Time is of the essence, however, and come Monday at noon a rustling crackle of static can be heard from overhead. Try as you might, you won't be able to find the speakers but a message will play loud and clear for all.

[As the static begins to clear, a young masculine voice begins to speak.]

"Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. That's how it goes, isn't it? Sorry, I've never been much of a religious man. Maybe that's why things wound up like this. I buried my wife some time ago. Her sickness came and took her so quickly. It was unfair. My daughter wept for days. That's why I couldn't believe my eyes when she knocked on our door one night. She came back, and she looked the same as she ever did. 'Course, she wasn't. I love my wife. I would never say she came back wrong, but she came back different. But I made a choice. My daughter needs a mother. Those people are strangers, and everyone needs to eat.

And what about all of you? Every single one of you, in this dreadful house. You have your own secrets, don't you? I wonder what you'd do to keep them. Would you kill for a secret? Well, we'll see, won't we? You have until the end of the week. Then-- they won't be secret anymore."

although one new thing is that right by him on the ground is a sword wrapped in chains (except, you know, minus the flames). since he doesn't have a room to keep it in and sadly cannot stash it in hell like he usually does, gotta carry it around with him...]

garden shed

[he can also be found the gardening shed, looking over flower packets. once he notices you coming, he turns around, holding up said packets. his sword is propped up the wall by him, within reach.]

i. i feel thing in this chilis tonight.
[ that. that sure is a detached limb coming down the hall. brilith stares at it in disbelief for a minute, but then it… lunges at her?!

what’s a girl to do but scream and run for it? please come save her from your rogue hands and feets. ]

ii. let’s ride.
[ the only horses brilith has seen are in books, never in person. so she hesitates upon finding them while exploring the grounds but…

she wants to try and ride one, just to see what it’s like. just once. the next person she sees in the area will get a hopeful smile. ]

Excuse me. Do you know anything about riding horses?

[ brilith will be dealing with some intense anger this week, so she’ll be sequestering herself in the library or gardens whenever possible. hmu for anything else you want to do, i’m always down for an adventure! ]

Reading

[ On Monday morning, he can be found in the lounge reading a certain guidebook on suicide. If anyone comes close enough, he'll look up at them with an unreadable expression, before continuing reading. ]

The library had books from my world.

Explora Dora
[ Later on Monday, he's in the basement exploring. Either walking around the underground lake seemingly without any caution, or peek in his head in the various rooms.

He'll mingle in two rooms in particular. The first being the crypt, where he's walking over to the skulls to check them out. ]

I wonder why these are out like this?

[ Or he's in the gun room, looking through guns to see which one is actually armed. He'll look over at anyone who comes in, while holding a shotgun. ]

This seems like a good idea to have in a murder mystery house.

[ His tone is pretty flat. Just putting it down to look at another gun.]

Kids and guns
[ For the rest of the week, find him either outside staring at the graves or grabbing one, two, or an arm full of guns and taking them upstairs with him. If no one stops him, he will hoard guns in his room. ]

[ screams about being let outside but everything just loops back to the mansion, that doesn't stop Ayabe from spending nearly the entire Monday in the woods. Anybody outside can probably see him intermittently walk into the forest and then half an hour later walk right back out of it looking immensely lost and confused.

Subete's lack of direction was contagious after all. ]

[ The laundry room is now Ayabe's room. Is there anything better than pulling sheets right out of the drier and burying your face into them? There is not. This is what he's doing and he might have also fallen asleep face down on a pile of warm fluffy blankets at one time or another. ]

iii.
[ Why the fuck is there a crypt. Ayabe doesn't care if it's musty for Aesthetics™, he has a bucket of water and a rag and he's deep cleaning the crypt and trying to get it to air out. He's trying really hard not to look at the skulls and coffins, but. It's hard. ]

[ Ayabe can be found wherever, if you need an excuse to find him somewhere in particular you can say his arms and/or legs have popped off and he's too busy lying on the ground screaming to chase after them or something. ]

[ that sure is his shoed foot hopping after brilith. zenitsu clings to the stair railing as he reaches out in vain. ]

Wait! Come back! Stop running away!

[ is he shouting after her or his foot? either way, said foot attempts to launch itself at brilith with a determined hop. the way he howls, one would think it's jumping at zenitsu. ]

[ why is his life getting drawn on while unconscious.....

[ it's red and he's just drawing a mustache if he can get to the rest of Ayabe's face. ]

[ Carrying weapons around isn't a bad idea considering what transpired, but Ayabe doesn't know Babo Kim is homeless so he has to ask. ]

That's not for the ducks is it?

[ The sword that he nods his head towards. ]

[he immediately ducks back into the fort while his head goes flying away...]

[oh thank they can go outside now. CABIN FEVER IS A SERIOUS AFFLICTION]

[anyway, if you're hanging out by the garden, you might hear Akira's voice: rock, paper, scissors-- shoot! is he playing with someone?? . . . but his is the only voice you hear??]

[if you investigate the matter you'll find Akira seated on the ground next to some flowers, playing rock paper scissors with. . . a disembodied hand. his disembodied hand, judging by his lack of one]

[when he hears you approach, he lifts his head and uses his good hand to adjust the new pair of black-rimmed glasses he found in his closet]

[ after wandering around outside, ash stops by one of the balconies. he's carting around a weird looking pole axe propped on his shoulder and a thoughtful look on his face.

after a moment, he shifts the poleaxe up off his shoulder and hooks it onto on of the balconies and uses it to shimmy his way up and grab hold of the flat of the balcony to hoist himself up. ]

[ ooc: he's not necessarily climbing on his own balcony. just A Balcony. you can do what you wish with this knowledge :) ]

ii. gun room

[ ash is just stood in the doorway to the gun room, not looking especially impressed. ]

Great room for a place like this. Love it.

[ he looks annoyed but also distinctly uncomfortable. after a moment or two, he'll turn and hot foot it away. ]

[ He's not completely passed out, so any where around his mouth is sensitive enough that he rouses, turns his head and smears red ink onto the sheets he was lying on.

And suddenly he's seeing red, figuratively and literally. ]

[ with a yelp, she dives to the side and (hopefully) out of the way. ]
