Don't listen to either of them. You don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to yet. Not unless you're ready. They won't understand anyway, most of them. That's fine. You still have someone important now. [The friend, he means.] They've been with you when your face was the thinnest. You take care of them because they need you, too. They're loyal, and you do things together all the time.

They'll always listen, and won't give you platitudes, or judge you for not having a family, or tell you you're childish, or you didn't do enough. And if you just have this one friend, that's okay. One is enough until you want more.
