[it's (probably) fine. she's the adult here, so it's her job to eat the less-good food!
(somehow, it doesn't occur to her to just toss the pancakes and go back for a second helping of oatmeal.)
she picks up a fork and very carefully cuts off a bite, and then--
oh. oh, dear. her eyes go wide, and she swallows hard.]
That's... you're sure it didn't taste of anything?
