WEEK ZERO: WELCOME INTRO

WELCOME

Even from behind your eyelids, the soft glowing light can be seen as you find yourself awakening. The slow swell of strings begins, and as you struggle to open your eyes, the sound of footsteps pass you by. You soon hear three feminine voices speak in unison.

"Master Blue wishes to welcome you all. We hope you enjoy your stay!"

Light temporarily blinds you as you look around, but the source of the voices has vanished. Whomever has greeted you seems to have disappeared without warning, leaving you all alone.

The music starts up and though no orchestra is present, the song can be heard all throughout the room. Crystal chandeliers hang above your head, and the waxed wooden floor gleams brightly. Floor to ceiling windows cover the back wall and a night sky full of stars twinkle back at you. The wall next to it, however, is covered by a thick crimson curtain. Those who attempt to move it will find they have little luck in their endeavor, but there are more pressing matters at hand.

Looking down you'll come to notice that you're wearing clothes that certainly aren't what you were previously wearing. You, and the guests around you, have been dressed appropriately in formal attire properly fitted for each individual.

Oh. That's right. Didn't we mention the other guests? Seated to your left, right, and across from you at the long banquet table are other people just like you. Perhaps it's a friend you know, though don't be surprised if it's a complete stranger. Each individual holds a blue and silver invitation with their name scrawled upon it, and a message to follow.

"Please respond to Master Blue's invitation at least one week prior to the event to secure your seat and accommodations.

This dinner is guaranteed to be an event to die for."

Strange, isn't it?

But rest assured! Nothing is stopping you from leaving the ballroom and exploring the other rooms of Master Blue's home. After all, you're an honored guest! It's with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that you're welcomed here tonight. Really, what's your hurry? It's not as though the front door will open for you. Don't bother with the windows either. They've all been locked tight to ensure you're all nice and cozy for your stay.

If you look under your seat, you'll find a special gift bag with your name on it. Opening these bags will reveal the following:

-A small spiral notebook
-A crayon in a specific shade of blue
-Three different candles
-A brass key (Design May Vary.)
-This cute toy

A welcome gift from the Master, of course.

Take some time to admire the decor, if you will. The house has been decorated for this special holiday with chains of paper hearts, miniature golden cupid statues, and confetti that rains down from the ceiling on occasion. Perhaps you'll get lucky tonight with love in the air, especially since Cupid's arrow seems to aim for you no matter where you go. For those of you who don't wish to partake in the lavish feast spread out in the ballroom, you're in luck. Boxes of chocolate and bowls of candy hearts can be found for all your snacking needs.

As the unseen orchestra plays on, it seems as though you've no choice but to get to know your fellow guests and make yourselves comfortable. Perhaps if you wait long enough, someone will come to greet you.

Well... no, but I've always had a hard time resisting chocolate.

[at least she's honest about it... she wraps the remainder of the piece of chocolate in her napkin, though, with the intention of tossing it once she finds somewhere to do so. she wouldn't want to litter.]

[ Best not to litter with a dog running around the place, I'm so scared for Missile all the time. ]

Better safe than sorry. I'll buy you some from a store outside later, when we get out.

[This is very true. Please protect Missile at all times.]

Really? That's very kind of you. [She smiles at him.] And we don't even know each other yet... I'm Nikki, by the way.

Well, you seemed disappointed not to finish the chocolate...

[ So he would buy her a new candy bar, yeah, even for a complete stranger. Candy's cheap, it's fine. ]

My name's Reito Ayabe.

[dressupqueen]

I am, a little... [Chocolate is GOOD.] It's nice to meet you, Reito.

[She pauses, though, and looks around the room.]

...though the circumstances are a little strange, aren't they?

[kazokun]

They're very strange.

[ There's no need to downplay any of this. Ayabe scowls and crosses his arms, looking back around the room. ]

I don't really get it, so... The best thing to do is wait until somebody comes forward.

[dressupqueen]

...and if nobody does?

[someone will but she doesn't know that yet!! it's fine.]

[kazokun]

A place like this wouldn't be set up so extravagantly and then abandoned. Somebody will come.

[ He has no proof. He just says it with conviction, and so it must be true. ]

[dressupqueen]

Oh... good point!

[and she's just going to accept it because he says it so convincingly]

[kazokun]

[ If you say things confidently enough, it becomes fact. ]

Right. And when that time comes, we'll be able to leave. I don't care what for reason we were brought here, as long as we're left alone.

[dressupqueen]

[Her brow furrows slightly at that, though, and her expression becomes a bit concerned.]

...will we really just be allowed to leave after someone went through the trouble of bringing us here?

[kazokun]

They probably aren't going to like it, but tough luck. What can they do about it?

[ Lock them up in a mansion and make them kill each other for the right to leave? Ridiculous. ]

[dressupqueen]

They could keep the doors and windows locked as they are now so we still can't get out...

[Otherwise they could just waltz out of here right now.]

[kazokun]

The door will have to open when he enters, right?

[ At that moment, we just bum-rush him. ]

[dressupqueen]

What if he comes in while we're all asleep, or not near the entrance hall?

[kazokun]

Everybody picks a door or window to sleep in front of.

[ There's so many of them, they could probably spread themselves out and cover every entrance possible. Blue will have to step on somebody, and that one person can scream and keep the door open. ]

[dressupqueen]

Oh! That might work!

[now how to convince everyone to sleep on the ground instead of in the nice, comfy beds...]

[kazokun]

Hopefully it won't take so long for him to arrive, but that will be the plan for tonight, then.

[ They can push the beds in front of the doors. And bar them from opening if they open inwards, RIP ]

[dressupqueen]

Let's hope it works...!

[ The three NPCs pop out of nowhere. It doesn't work. ]

I'll be looking forward to getting out of here, then.
