WEEK FOUR: TRIAL
WEEK FOUR: TRIAL
OCCUPANCY: 23
Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.
Despite the events of the day before, when you wake up on Saturday it almost feels as though nothing is out of place. Breakfast is still served at 7am on the spot, the house is still peaceful, and yet the distinct feeling that something isn't quite right continues to follow you wherever you go.
It soon becomes obvious that today is a different kind of day. One by one, all of you will begin to feel the urge to return to the ballroom where this event began. Try as you might, you'll find that these feelings can't be easily ignored despite your best efforts. Should you find yourself still resisting by 11:55am, a strong unseen force will guide you straight into the ballroom.
When all have gathered in the room, the doors will lock behind you at 12pm sharp. The feast table has been set to provide guests with hors d'oeuvres and beverages, but that's not all. In the center of this table rests a large wooden box and two baskets of crayons and notecards.
And of course, seated in front of the wall of profile plaques are your three lovely hosts. Peach, Plum and Pumpkin wait patiently for all to gather before drawing attention.
"Someone here is a murderer," they say, pointing up at the plaque of the house rules.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fifth trial!
We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.
While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your hosts will also be accompanying you on these visits.
Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully, as we're trying a fun new bonus mechanic this game!

It's a match for Four.

Okay, so the footprint won't help us. Then we'll need to rely on the hair.
no subject
We should definitely match the hair. But also, something Phoenix said, back during the trial when there were three murders. At the end of the day, we need to catch the monster, right?
So if we're starting to think the person who did this was a human. . .
no subject
A human who might have willingly killed someone else over the motive that everyone kept saying was fake. A human who set up a shitty knife trap and chose their victim with a homemade die.
Even if we don't vote for them, we need to find out who they are.

We did.
[and if killing people just makes the house stronger then B(]

I agree we have to find that person. But I haven't once voted for anybody here because I thought they were a bad person, or because they were the person I liked least. These trials are bullshit, and the only reason to vote in them is they're the only way we have to stop a monster from killing again.
As for whoever is a human and killed somebody, then they should go to jail. But I'm not the police or a judge or anything! None of us are! We're just people in a monster house that's eating us, and the only thing we have is that we're supposed to stick together!
no subject
I'm not saying they're a bad person, either. [although, like. . . he is definitely pissed off at them] I'm not saying we have to find them to judge them, just that we need to find them so we know to keep an eye on them later on.
So they don't kill again.

[ and before anyone says something about ethics, or easy targets, or would they have to do that for an entire week- ]
Of course, that isn't necessarily the best solution- but we would have to argue for quite a white before we settled on some avenue of compromise.

No, I agree with you, Akira. We won't vote for them, but we need to know.

That's my stance, too.

[he's relieved that other people know where he's coming from]
Nobody gets a free pass to kill just because the monsters take priority.

We've been here for a few hours and they haven't said anything yet. And they're the person who willingly chose a victim and killed them. They've got to understand that people would be pissed about that decision.
