WEEK FIVE: MINGLE
WEEK FIVE
OCCUPANCY: 23
Rise and shine, little monsters. A new week is waiting just for you. The events of yesterday may have been hard to stomach, but time heals all wounds, after all. The damages the house has incurred over the last week have been reverted and the staff is hard at work fulfilling their roles in this mansion. A piping hot breakfast is served in the dining room promptly at 7am, every square inch of floor and furniture has been cleaned spotless, and Pumpkin is...probably around tending to the animals outside. As you exit your rooms on this lovely morning, guests will find that the barrier leading upstairs has diminished, and a new floor has been opened to explore.
For anyone who ventures into the ballroom, a new change may become apparent. Should you choose to look at the plaques long enough, two images will flicker and change sporadically. While Phoenix's portrait remains the same, on occasion it will change to an unrecognizable figure, flames surrounding the charred flesh. Likewise, Four's portrait looks just like herself, though if you blink you may miss the sharp knives protruding through her chest, rivers of blood dripping down her front. There is no rhyme and reason for the change...though perhaps it serves as a reminder to those who remain.
Additionally, the house rules have been moved from the ballroom and back into the hallway, mounted in the entryway as they were.
You know what to expect by now. Once a week, one of your own transforms into someone unrecognizable. But it's hard to empathize with someone without experiencing the hardship for yourself, isn't it? Worry not. Starting today, from the moment you wake, you will find that you yourself have changed into something unrecognizable. Claws, fangs, fur, scales, extra limbs, extra mouths...the changes are numerous as your monster form takes a hold of you. Oh but it's alright! It's just the physical appearance, after all. You're still yourself inside...but it may be hard to believe that as the week goes on.
Some of you may be able to brush these strange changes aside. Others of you may find yourself struggling to understand who you really are. And others of you will find even more problems on hand. Is it your imagination, or did the mansion grow several degrees colder? You just can't quite to seem to warm up. While you may normally be comfortable sharing blankets with your fellow guests, you now find yourself feeling a bit greedy and unwilling to share...well, anything, really. The insatiable greed requires you to take and take and take, no matter if you require the necessities you're taking. And yet even as you take, and especially as you consume, you find that you're never quite satisfied, belly never quite full regardless of how much you eat. That's troubling, isn't it?
You may experience only some of these events. Then again, maybe you're unlucky and you're experiencing all of these events at different points in time. Time is of the essence, however, and come Monday at noon a rustling crackle of static can be heard from overhead. Try as you might, you won't be able to find the speakers but a message will play loud and clear for all.

and raises an eyebrow. ]
...Let's save the flamethrower for last. We can try the mittens and hat, but the file said it was her heart that's frozen. Is there a scarf or a blanket in there we can try too?
no subject
Here! This should warm her right up, along with that tea!
no subject
not commenting on whatever the hell that's supposed to be! so she just carefully sets the blanket over anna, flinching back when she feels a slight shock. wow! so much for tucking her in! ]
Do they want us to help her or not?
no subject
So - there must be a trick to it, and we have to figure it out!
no subject
[ whatever! the water's boiling! brilith is going to pour the tea now, and wait for it to brew. ]
We'll have to be careful giving her the tea, if that's what it is.
no subject
no subject
but eh. galo was being salty at her earlier. he can deal with it. ]
Alright. Hold her up then, and i'll try to help her drink it.

You can set her down, then. We should know if it worked in a minute.
[ she'll just. quietly wipe off the rogue tea with the edges of the blanket, and get a few extra shocks for her troubles. ]
no subject
[Watching Anna! Her cheeks look a little rosier, maybe? It's hard to say.]
I don't think it's working. Maybe we can get some more info about her?
no subject
It says she had cabin fever, but a big heart... a princess, kind and eager to accept others. "Displays of friendship and love often caused changes of the heart... further study of acts of kindness may help."
[ she glances back at anna uncertainly. ]
...Are we not being kind enough to her?
no subject
[Looking at Brilith just like. Uh-oh. But then realizing that's not very kind of him.]
If that makes sense to you. You have the best ideas, Brilith.
no subject
It's a good idea. I would have thought making her tea would count, though... [ maybe she just doesn't like tea? ] Well, cutting into her or using the flamethrower definitely won't help.
[ what would have moved brilith's own heart, as a priestess who grew up rather isolated in her own way? ]
My books said that being rude to each other is how you know you're friends, but I don't think that will work for her. But maybee... [ frowning at the doll, she steps closer to ask: ] Princess Anna, would you like to be friends with us? We could... go shopping together, or whatever you like.
[ shopping is a friend thing to do right ]
no subject
[That's what he does with his friends?]
That sound good, Anna?
no subject
What's a pizza?
no subject
[That's definitely shaking his entire world.]
Okay! We have to go make a pizza, and feed it to you and to Anna! And that kindness will thaw out her heart!
no subject
[ she's a little startled?? but uhhh, if it works, that's fine? ]
...And that's something friends do? They... make a pizza together? What does it take to make one?
no subject
no subject
instead of asking, she nods. ]
Okay. So how do we make it, then?
no subject
[They can go to the kitchen and Galo will get out pizza ingredients and start showing her how to make it. They bring Anna with them and prop her up against the wall.]
And then once you have the sauce and cheese, you put on whatever toppings you want, and it goes in the oven.
no subject
That's it? [ it seems pretty simple... ] Which ones are best, then?
no subject
We should ask Anna what she likes best! I usually like a spicy margherita, but I don't know how to make that. So second best is some pepperoni or something.
no subject
Princess Anna, do you have a favorite topping for your pizza?
no subject
Well. She might be a vegetarian, right? So we should make a pizza with veggies.
no subject
[ she's pulling out some fresh basil and peppers. ]
Will this do?
