WEEK TWO: TRIAL

WEEK TWO: TRIAL

OCCUPANCY: 28

Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.

Despite the events of the day before, when you wake up on Saturday it almost feels as though nothing is out of place. Breakfast is still served at 7am on the spot, the house is still peaceful, and yet the distinct feeling that something isn't quite right continues to follow you wherever you go.

It soon becomes obvious that today is a different kind of day. One by one, all of you will begin to feel the urge to return to the ballroom where this event began. Try as you might, you'll find that these feelings can't be easily ignored despite your best efforts. Should you find yourself still resisting by 11:55am, a strong unseen force will guide you straight into the ballroom.

When all have gathered in the room, the doors will lock behind you at 12pm sharp. The feast table has been set to provide guests with hors d'oeuvres and beverages, but that's not all. In the center of this table rests a large wooden box and two baskets of crayons and notecards.

And of course, seated in front of the wall of profile plaques are...well. Two of your lovely hosts. Peach and Plum wait patiently for all to gather before drawing attention.

"Someone here is a murderer," they say, pointing up at the plaque of the house rules.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the third trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your hosts will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully, as we're trying a fun new bonus mechanic this game!

No, I threw it at her before then.

I threw a can of hairspray at Meltryllis.

Holy shit, you got her.

It wasn't easy.

I mean, hey. You defended yourself, didn't you? I don't think anybody can blame you.

[personal profile] oathic 2020-03-07 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know about that. Meltryllis herself didn't deserve any of this, after all.

But thanks.

She bit the shit out of Asch and he got scapegoated for her eating Nia. I have less than negative sympathy. Sorry.

[...Well. This dumb argument with Lio aside.]

Did you lure her into your room? Or did you just do it when she showed up?
oathic: (b39.)

[personal profile] oathic 2020-03-07 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I found her before the doors locked.
burningrescue: (not good enough)

[personal profile] burningrescue 2020-03-07 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
She had two wounds. A gunshot wound in the eye and something through her skull. Know anything about that?

[personal profile] oathic 2020-03-07 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing in particular? I just didn't bring them to trial.

[personal profile] infire 2020-03-07 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Galo.

There are two others dead. Can we try to focus on finding their murderers, too?
madburnout: (2.)

[personal profile] madburnout 2020-03-07 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
If we can separate what happened here from the rest of the evidence, those will be easier to solve.
infire: (❥ 32)

[personal profile] infire 2020-03-07 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
...He'll cooperate. But please - don't spend too much time on it when the others are still here, okay?
madburnout: (101.)

[personal profile] madburnout 2020-03-07 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no intention to vote for him, and will demand others refrain as well. You have to trust we are on your side.
disreguarded: [ᴋᴜʜᴋᴏᴏᴋ_] (31)

[personal profile] disreguarded 2020-03-07 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, we're not gonna fuckin' vote for people who killed in self defense.
madburnout: (5.)

[personal profile] madburnout 2020-03-07 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Some might, because the answer is simple. We have to find Mammon and Stefano's killer. It's possible Meltryllis may have committed one of those crimes.

I do trust you. But after last week...

[ they killed someone innocent, after all. ]
burningrescue: (132)

[personal profile] burningrescue 2020-03-07 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
This is important because of that.

[He gives her a sympathetic look, though.]

We need to know what happened, so we know which evidence wasn't related to Mammon and Stefano. I don't plan to vote for him, though, okay?
infire: (❥ 18)

[personal profile] infire 2020-03-07 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ that's not stopping her from worrying. ]

It took this long for you to figure that out. I'm sure he'll cooperate with you, but we barely have anything from the others yet. What happens if we don't find them?

[ rhetorical question - she knows the answer. and she's afraid that it will come to that, especially after last week. ]
burningrescue: (137)

[personal profile] burningrescue 2020-03-07 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing, because it's not going to come to that. I believe in us, but we're gonna need your help, too.
infire: (❥ 74)

[personal profile] infire 2020-03-07 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll do whatever I can to help.

[ ... ]

But you can't say for sure that it won't. It happened last week.
