WEEK THREE: MINGLE
WEEK THREE
OCCUPANCY: 28
Rise and shine, little monsters. A new week is waiting just for you. The events of yesterday may have been hard to stomach, but time heals all wounds, after all. The damages the house has incurred over the last week have been reverted and the staff is hard at work fulfilling their roles in this mansion. A piping hot breakfast is served in the dining room promptly at 7am, every square inch of floor and furniture has been cleaned spotless, and Pumpkin is...probably around tending to the animals outside. As you exit your rooms on this lovely morning, guests will find that the barrier leading upstairs has diminished, and a new floor has been opened to explore.
For anyone who ventures into the ballroom, a new change may become apparent. Should you choose to look at the plaques long enough, two images will flicker and change sporadically. While Mammon's portrait remains the same, on occasion it will change to an image of a flattened and concave individual almost unrecognizable. Likewise, Meltryllis's portrait looks just like herself, though if you blink you may miss it changing into a large leviathan, claws and scales glistening against the water. Finally, Stefano's portrait reveals a picture of the artist, but every now and then his head hangs from his neck by a shred of skin. There is no rhyme and reason for the change...though perhaps it serves as a reminder to those who remain.
Additionally, the house rules have been moved from the ballroom and back into the hallway, mounted in the entryway as they were.
They say that the past builds a strong foundation for the future. But what if your past isn't quite as clear as others? Anyone can lie about who they are; all it takes is a bit of practice to hide your true memories. Starting today, however, it seems as though the skeletons in your closet wish to come out. Memories you've kept hidden during this stay will begin to float to the surface of your mind, forcing their way out and onto other guests in your vicinity. There doesn't appear to be rhyme or reason how it happens whether it's by touch or by simply standing close to someone. Some memories may be stronger around those you're closest with, but it seems as though everything will be brought to the light eventually.
Perhaps your memories are happy ones. Or perhaps you'll view your memories as something to be ashamed of, hiding away from the people you've come to befriend. Maybe it's a good thing you'll find that you can't see your own reflection in the mirror. Entering rooms becomes harder when you have to be invited by someone else, and...the smell and taste of garlic becomes repugnant, driving you away,
You may experience only some of these events. Then again, maybe you're unlucky and you're experiencing all of these events at different points in time. Time is of the essence, however, and come Monday at noon a rustling crackle of static can be heard from overhead. Try as you might, you won't be able to find the speakers but a message will play loud and clear for all.

[ thereโs a CRONCH as he eats another handful of popcorn Jin Ling does not have. ]

He drops his hand and turns away. But it's almost the right words. It's enough of them to be strong enough.
Ash gets a memory.]

...
[ ash throws a piece of popcorn towards Jin Ling. ] Just say please next time. Demanding shit just gets people's backs up.
[ It's not said dismissively, or sharply. But he's not pitying either. It's just shaving off the teasing edges to get to the goal he was aiming to reach. ]

I don't care. I don't want it anyway.

If you want something, go for it. [ He can crinkle the paper a little more if it makes more of a notable sound. Just take the popcorn, Jingles. ]
'Sides, you wanted it a minute ago.
no subject
I know that. I always go after what I want!
[Skeptically, he looks between Ash and the bag, and then darts his hand out to grab some and snatch it away like he thinks Ash is going to play a joke on him.]

...
Why might become apparent, sort of. Because this place is a little bitch and if one of them can share a memory with the class, so can the other one. ]

Never had he been a part of the fall of Lotus Pier, but he thinks whatever this is, that's how it'd feel, how it'd smell and taste and burn.]
What... was that...? Was that... where you lived...?
no subject
Take the rest, it'd be a waste otherwise.
[ And then he's just turning on his heel and leaving, bye. ]
no subject
He doesn't even try to catch the bag he's so shocked.] Ca-- [What the fuck?! Ash can't just leave, that's his schtick. He steps over the bag and runs after.]
Stop! What was that?!

Don't ignore me! I said to stop! I'll break both your legs!

[ He's still not touching any of the topics Jingles wants him to. Bye. ]
no subject
You can't just...! Fine!
