WEEK THREE: TRIAL
WEEK THREE: TRIAL
OCCUPANCY: 26
Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.
Despite the events of the day before, when you wake up on Saturday it almost feels as though nothing is out of place. Breakfast is still served at 7am on the spot, the house is still peaceful, and yet the distinct feeling that something isn't quite right continues to follow you wherever you go.
It soon becomes obvious that today is a different kind of day. One by one, all of you will begin to feel the urge to return to the ballroom where this event began. Try as you might, you'll find that these feelings can't be easily ignored despite your best efforts. Should you find yourself still resisting by 11:55am, a strong unseen force will guide you straight into the ballroom.
When all have gathered in the room, the doors will lock behind you at 12pm sharp. The feast table has been set to provide guests with hors d'oeuvres and beverages, but that's not all. In the center of this table rests a large wooden box and two baskets of crayons and notecards.
And of course, seated in front of the wall of profile plaques are your three lovely hosts. Peach, Plum and Pumpkin wait patiently for all to gather before drawing attention.
"Someone here is a murderer," they say, pointing up at the plaque of the house rules.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the fourth trial!
We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.
While there was a mini-investigation on Friday, today is the day participants can really dive in to investigate areas in the game setting, check over the body and review evidence that they find! Please see the toplevels in this post for more information. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. One of your hosts will also be accompanying you on these visits.
Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously. Please also be sure to read the voting page carefully, as we're trying a fun new bonus mechanic this game!

STATE OF THE BODY
We're looking for all four limbs this time around. Subete's body was cut into pieces at the joints, and his head was severed as well. The cuts look neat, cut through with a blade rather than torn or bitten, though Nic can take another look to verify. It looks like the murderer had more trouble with the arms than the legs and neck.
He has a stab wound in his chest, thin and only a few inches deep into the heart, possibly due to a knife.
His head is... cold. Like... [ LIKE A DEFROSTED CHICKEN ] Like it was separated and left in a freezer for some time before being taken back out. There's a stab wound to his left eye, blunt and messy, but no bruising around the eye or face. Blood covering his face suggests he was still alive when this happened, like he was moving, instead of being stabbed in the eye after he died.
[ There is no mention about the clothes. Nobody has to know about that. ]

For what purpose would they possibly have wanted to . . . freeze the head?

That... certainly would explain the excessive amount of blood in the main hall.

Were the cuts done with the same weapon for all limbs?

What the fuck.

How long, exactly, does it take a human head to freeze? They must have come back for it rather late in the night, just to rejoin it with his torso.
no subject
The staff could've picked his head up just before we all woke up, right? Maybe it was never supposed to leave the freezer?

They were keeping the head...?
[mdzs trauma]

The were at least three different weapons used.
- The eye injury was the first done. It was shallow, didn't go into the skull behind the eye, so I can't get a real sense of what weapon might have been used, other than it was probably smaller. Some scrapes and bruises on the chest were likely also from this time, before the fatal injury.
- The stab wound to the chest is most likely the fatal injury. Ayabe's guess of a knife seems plausible for the size. The eye might've been done with this weapon as well.
- The legs, arms, and head were removed post-mortem. I believe a different weapon was used on the arms, accounting for the cuts being rougher.

It... it was likely this, for the eye.
